CD SOUNDTRACK FINALLY ARRIVES- PROJECT MISTY UPDATE DEC 10, 2012

Hello backers, I hope your all doing well. Well, the good news is that the CD Soundtrack has finally arrived from the factory. The wait has been so long and again, I apologize. It is very artisan and very professionally made, and the first CD I have ever produced, so all things considered, we did very well. Distribpix’s Music Coordinator, Ian Culmell, hit this out of the park, from the content to the packaging, not too mention his 20 minute interview with George Craig, who was the Music Director for Misty Beethoven and largely responsible for the soundtrack which was used.

Well, now that this has arrived, all of the backers who had pledged at the CD Soundtrack level, will soon be receiving their copy in the mail. I decided to make the call and ship the rewards separately, as time was ticking and I did not want to hold out, just in case there was a larger issue with the CD. So for many backers you may have already received all of your rewards, some are still waiting( mainly the international backers due to mail /customs), and others will now be getting yet another small CD mailer, which will contain the Soundtrack. I plan to have all of the soundtracks shipped within the next 5 days. Hopefully this will put all of the rewards into the hands of the backers in time for the Holiday!!

Again, the rewards shipping has been underway for over 3 weeks, and all of the packages, besides the CD have shipped. Keep your eyes open and email me anytime, with questions, or concerns. In the meantime, I will continue to go and won’t stop until the CD’s are all shipped.

To be honest, I can’t be done with Project Misty quick enough..LOL, and I have already moved on to Barbara Broadcast.

PROJECT MISTY UPDATE NOVEMBER 2012

The Opening of Misty Beethoven, A Film by Radley Metzger,
Project Misty Update November 2012

Thank you to all of you, thank you so much! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and or a pleasant weekend, depending on where you are located in the world! I want to post an update about the release of Misty and more importantly the rewards, which I have been dedicated to for the past 2 weeks.

Here are some fun STATS about the Project Misty rewards shipping to date, it really is a daunting task.

1. over 410 Media boxes packed and shipped

2. 160 poster tubes(320 POSTERS) have been shipped

3. Postage has exceeded $1400.00 USD and still counting – AND another round for CD’s (UGH)

4. Over 120 hours just for assembling-packing-labeling-shipping!

BTW, none of this is complaining, I am enjoying every minute of this crazy ride, I am hands on and packed every single box myself, and took them to the post office, each and every one. Do I sometimes wish this was lucrative enough to be able to split the labor? Sure I do, but things are alright, this craziness creates character and running things tight enable me to do more film related stuff, which is the goal!

________________________________________________________________________________________________

First off, the release of the CD set and Blu of Misty is official. Although it did not go off with the “bang” I was looking for, it will certainly gain momentum as it gets out into the world! Early reviews are coming in and they are simply awesome.

Secondly, the rewards for the Misty backers have been shipped, with the exception of a few international backers, which are shipping this week. Also, the giclee prints are being shipped this week, for the few backers at the top level! They are incredibly fragile and had to be packed with care.

Lastly, we are still awaiting the CD Soundtrack for Misty. It is due any day now, and we are as anxious as anyone, as this has been in the works for over a year now. As soon as they arrive, all backers who pledged at the soundtrack level, will receive their copy.

PROJECT MISTY REWARDS F.A.Q (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q. I have received a poster tube with the Misty Beethoven posters, but not the DVD or Blu-Ray?

A. This is totally normal. In the US, the poster tubes are sent using Priority Mail or Parcel Post, and usually arrive within 2-4 days, but the DVD/Blu-ray are sent using Media Packs, so they can take a bit longer.
_____

Q. The CD Soundtrack was not included in my Media Package along with the DVD and Blu Ray of Misty Beethoven?

A. The CD is not in yet and as soon as it arrives, it will be sent to all backers. Most likely, you will see a hand written note on your PAID invoice that says “CD Coming Soon”!
_____

Q. I was not sent the proper reward package?

A. Everything was custom packed and tracked, and we tried very hard to make no mistakes, but we are human. Just send me an email at distribpix@gmail.com and I will correct the problem immediately.
_____

Q. I still have not received anything?

A. Most of the rewards were sent using USPS, with the exception of the larger boxes which were sent using UPS. The bulk of the rewards were shipped just before Thanksgiving, and there was also a postal holiday. Please keep your eyes open for your rewards, I am getting reports that they are arriving!!
_____

Q. I am an international backer and I have not received my rewards?

A. All of the international packages are being sent using the United States Postal Service(INTERNATIONAL). Delivery times can usually run between 4-7 days, depending on country and customs it can run much longer. They should arrive soon!
_____

Q. Something in my reward package is damaged, either due to defect, packaging or in transit?

A. Please send me an email at distribpix@gmail.com and we will correct the problem.
_____

Q. I pledged at the lower level as I just wanted the DVD/Blu ray, but now, I would like to purchase one of the posters, the CD Soundtrack and a pair of the martini glasses. How do I do that?

A. All of the rewards that were available for the Project Misty backers are all for sale in the official Distribpix online store at http://www.distribpix.com. They are very limited and going quickly. You can also send me an email anytime.

PROJECT MISTY REWARDS- Shipping in full effect

Hello everyone.

The last week has been hectic, to say the least. Now that the Blu ray arrived, the shipping for Misty backers was able to commence. The DVD set was finally able to be shipped after Hurricane Misty and thankfully, now the Blu-ray. The CD soundtrack is expected very shortly and some backers at the CD reward tier will receive an additional media package, including the CD Soundtrack, in the upcoming weeks. Please continue to be patient, so far you have all been wonderful to work with, a total pleasure.

I have gotten word that some of you have already received reward packages, that is excellent news! Please feel free to post here, any comments or thoughts, etc!!

PROJECT MISTY REWARDS – NOW SHIPPING

What a long strange trip it has been, and it is not quite over yet! The rewards for project misty backers have begun to ship. Some of you may already have received a package or even 2 of them. The bulk of the rewards will be shipping on Monday and throughout the rest of next week. Some international backers have been gracious enough to wait the extra few days, as the CD Soundtrack is expected shortly, and it will save us tons of money to bulk the items into a single shipment. We really appreciate all of your patience and trust throughout this rather long project. I really hope that you find value and enjoyment in the final product. It was wonderful to work on this restoration, and we are now ready to get Misty out there!

The following pictures illustrate the organizing, packing and shipping of all the project misty rewards. It really is a large undertaking, and even more so, being alone in this archive. I promise you that I am working as quickly as possible!!

When Misty Met Sandy

Hey everyone!

It’s Ian Culmell here, speaking on behalf of Steven.  For those of you who do not know, Distribpix is located in New Jersey, so Hurricane Sandy meant that our week did not go exactly as planned.

To all of our dedicated fans who live in areas impacted by the hurricane– as challenging as this week has been for Distribpix, we know that many of you have had it far worse.  You are all very much in our thoughts.

I’ve kept in contact with Steven daily via text messaging and he reports that the Distribpix Archives weathered the storm well.  None of the leaks were catastrophic, and as best he can tell by flashlight, nothing irreplaceable was damaged.  Neither the archive nor his home have power yet (nor running water, as his well pump has no power), but he and his family are safe and well.  About 90% of his county is still without power and it’s possible the Archive may not get power until sometime in the middle of next week.  Steven managed to find a place to get online briefly this evening and I know that seeing the supportive e-mails and Facebook messages buoyed his spirits.  Thank you.  He’s going to do his best to get back online tomorrow to work through the backlog of e-mails.

As soon as power is back up, shipping to Project Misty backers will be first on the agenda!  A silver lining to the dark cloud: the delay due to Sandy means that the Blu-rays have arrived and are being held for us at a nearby FedEx facility.  This means they will ship to backers along with the DVDs! The Soundtrack CD still looks like it may take a few more weeks to arrive, and will have to ship separately.

To those of you who have reached out and offered to cover the additional cost of the second shipment– we greatly appreciate the offer, but we’re going to take care of the cost.  To international backers who have said that you’re willing to wait and receive your items as a single shipment– we may well take you up on that offer.  We’ll keep everyone posted once the power comes back up.

One piece of good news:  before the power went out, pre-orders requests for The Opening of Misty Beethoven were pouring in.  We put incredible amounts of work into this release, so seeing strong demand for the special edition has been tremendously gratifying.  Again, thanks to everyone for your patience, support and understanding!

Warmest Regards,

Ian

PROJECT MISTY BEETHOVEN REWARDS SHIPPING

Project Misty Backers:

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued patience, throughout this rather long process. It has been a hell of a project, and one I will never forget. We are definitely in the final stages of all manufacturing, and even though the Blu and CD are almost here, we have decided to announce the official release of the Collector’s Edition 2 DVD set as Oct 31, 2012, and then soon after the Blu Ray and CD Soundtrack will follow. We set a date to make a final decision and it passed, so instead of waiting any longer, we want to jumpstart the process. The first step is getting you all of your rewards!

With that said, the Project Misty reward packages will begin to ship tomorrow, Monday October 22, 2012. The reward packages will have 2 basic rounds of shipping. The first package that will be shipped this week, will contain all of the rewards that were included in your reward tier(posters, tees, glasses, prints, etc), with the exception of the BLU and CD.

The Blu and CD, will both be sent as an additional package, as soon as they come in, and we will have to eat the extra cost for shipping, but in this case it is worth it, as I want the backers to have the DVD, before the general public, as that is only fair, and we will do the same for the BLU and CD!!

I am here around the clock getting this stuff done, and I plan to have all of the first round packages shipped out this week before Friday.

Depending on what reward tier you pledged, will determine how many boxes you receive, so backers will get one media box, others will get a media box and a poster roll, and there will even be some shipments, mainly the higher pledge tiers, that are shipped in large boxes, to protect the martini glasses and vintage posters.

I will keep you all posted and please send me any questions, concerns, etc. If there are any issues with your shipments, just send me an email.

I am really looking forward for you guys to take a look at this entire project, etc!!

Thank you so much and Congratulations!

Warmest Regards,

Steven and Ian

Misty Beethoven 2012- Assets beginning to arrive

The double sided box cover for the Collector’s Edition 2 DVD set are in- this is the double sided box art, in a clear double DVD case!

SIDE 1- NEW DESIGN

SIDE 2- Retro Design

It is a frustrating waiting game, as the elements are either done or reaching the final stages of manufacturing. There  are still misty beethoven assets in the United States, CD soundtrack being completed in Oregon and in California, the art is being die cut and still in the works. The Blu Ray project is being manufactured overseas, and we are pushing them as fast as we can. It is tough, as we are so close, but at the mercy of our vendors!

If you are really excited for the Blu Ray, it may be a good idea to invest in a newer model Blu Ray player, and I am sure that most Blu fans, already have decent players- this is because the Blu Ray 50gb Dual Layer, is packed to the gills and very heavy, in every way, We had to cut back on content and bit rate to make it all fit, and the menus had to be made more simple, as they were too heavy and choking up some of the more simple and older players, that don’t have the internal capability to handle the buffer, etc. I feel that this is a very special release, and the Blu Ray has a lot of content, and it is important to be able to have a player that can navigate quickly and get you to all the menu links!

Just keeping you posted, project misty rewards are ready, we are waiting for the rest of stuff and we will ship immediately!
