Q: Why did Kickstarter cancel your project?

A: While Kickstarter approved our project, it had a change of heart 5 days in and notified us that the sexually explicit nature of Misty violated their guidelines.  They were kind enough to hold the project page open until we found a new home for the campaign.

Q: So… how is this going to work?

A: Press the “Make a Pledge” button on the main page.  It will ask you for some key details but won’t ask for your credit card information.  If we get enough pledges to meet our goal, we’ll send invoices to all of the backers via their preferred payment outlet.

Q: What if I want to change my pledge? Or cancel it?

A: Just fill out the survey again– we’ll use your most recent one when we send out invoices! To cancel it, select “No Reward” and $0 donation.

Q: If this project doesn’t make its goal, will the DVD still come out?

A: Yes, this campaign is solely for the purpose of funding additional costs to release Misty on Blu-ray.  The 2-disc DVD Special Edition will be released even if the campaign does not succeed.

Q: Will everything that is included on the 2-disc DVD also be included on the Blu-ray?

A: Yes, our goal is to include 100% of the content from the DVDs on the Blu-ray, including HD versions of all the extras.  That is why we have chosen to go dual-layer.

Q: What extras will be included on the discs? 

A: Some features are still to-be-determined, but we’ve committed to including both cuts of the film, full-length director commentary, an additional commentary track with Gloria Leonard, a Behind-the-Scenes Documentary (likely 45+ minutes), trailers for all the Henry Paris films, cast and crew interviews, outtakes, never-before-seen slides and ephemera. Also included: subtitles in 6 languages, a Film-Facts subtitle track, a completely restored 5.1 audio mix to accompany the original mono track, and detailed liner notes.

Q: Do I need to be over 21 years of age to pledge?

A: For reward tiers that include the DVD or Blu-ray, you must assert that you are of legal age to view sexually explicit material under the laws of your country (21 in the United States).  While Misty was shot by an award-winning director and cinematographer and features locations shot on two continents, off-broadway actors, a stellar soundtrack, and more, the “hard” version of the film DOES feature explicit sexual footage.  The “soft” version does not, but is currently only available bundled with the “hard” version.

Q: How will I know if there will be a theatrical screening of Misty near me?

A: Theatrical screenings are still being negotiated, with initial screenings tentatively planned for New York City, Los Angeles, and Austin.  We would love to host screenings in other cities, so please help us find local venues willing and able to show the film!  We can screen either the soft or hard cut, depending on the theater’s preference and local community standards.
